   Do you know anything of two sisters, Catherine and Gabriel Fanning that came from Co. Tipperary and were nuns in Iowa City, Iowa? I knew them when I was a child, and was always told they were relatives through my Maher side of the family, I believe. They also had a niece, Sister Leoni Fanning. No relatives still living seem to know their connection to my family, and I am very curious.

      Hi Cheryl,
      Offhand I don’t recognise their names and so far haven’t established any Fanning Iowa connections. However I have not had much luck tracking my Fanning ancestors who emigrated to the States. Do you know who their parents were or whereabouts they were born in Tipperary?
