Lovely to hear from you.
We went on a trip overseas in August 2018 and visited Portugal, Ireland and Spain. We spent 8 days in Co Tipperary. We had made contact with Torpey family members in Dublin and Borrisokane through the site Ireland Reaching Out. A local who contributes to that site told me there are plenty of Torpeys around Borrisokane. He arranged a meeting. Henry Torpey lives in the main street of Borrisokane and we went to his house and there were about 12 Torpeys there. It was wonderful. Henry and John Torpey took us around to the church and cemetery and Sopwell House and we had a great old time. So if you ever get to Tipp Henry is easy to find Borrisokane being a small village and I’m sure every one knows everyone. We went and looked at the original Lissadonna house as well.

I also went through the Irish newspapers on irishnewpaperarchives and have included any articles relating to our Torpey families.

I would love to visit Ireland again, but doesn’t look like it will be anytime soon.
