Fanning Family History is going off line from 6 Aug 2023

Hi everyone,

As you can see, I have been posting less and less over the past few years. My interest has declined, as I have nearly exhausted available sources of info on my Fanning family and my mother’s family as well.

I won’t be renewing my host site subscription with Site Ground from 6 Aug 2023  and I won’t renew my domain name either. I can’t justify the expense.

I am putting as much as I can of the information and photos I have on my Ancestry trees. Unfortunately, this is a subscription site but it does mean all my hard work will be preserved.

I have two trees on Ancestry: Fannings from Co Tipperary Ireland 2017 and my maternal tree, Knighton Family Tree.

If there is any info you want from my site best copy it in the next year. Please please please don’t ask me to do this for you.

I have loved being contacted by readers of my blog.  Thank you.

Cheers

Kathleen Fanning

Ps have been thinking I might be able to move my WordPress.org site to WordPress.com a free blog. This way all my info will still be online. Still looking into this idea/plan.

Rev Hugh Mockler Obituary 1910

Obituary for Rev Hugh Mockler Parish priest at Clerihan Parish Clonmel Co Tipperary. The Freemans Journal 10 Feb 1910

I have included this obit for Hugh Mockler as Tom Fanning of Lissaroon who I am related to attended and is listed as a relative. I have been unable to find any connection between him or his wife Johanna Bannon and the Mocklers.

I am curious as I have come up as a DNA match with a Mockler. Maybe someone reading this knows how the Fannings and Mocklers are related.
