In 1839 in Thurles Co Tipperary Ireland a William Fanning was imprisoned for one year.
This is from a report from a committee of the House of Lords on the “State of Ireland in respect of Crime” 1839:

There is no way of knowing which William Fanning this is but it is in the Thurles district and he may well have been related. He was given 12 months hard labour.
